Vivian Maier: Exposed

Vivian Maier (French/American, 1926-2009) thrilled the world when her body of work of more than 100,000 negatives and some films were discovered in 2007. Maier kept photography all to herself, shooting in her spare time with her Rolliflex ready to capture anything and everything; buildings, trees, shadows, street portraits, road kill, gang members, newspaper headlines, celebrities, the odd, the mundane, the interesting, the everyday, and many times her own portrait or simply a shadow of herself.
College of DuPage was involved early on in the development of 200 rolls of Maier’s films owned by Jeffrey Goldstein. Members of “Team Vivian”, a team that helped develop the negatives, included several COD students and photo consultant, Frank Jackowiak, who were the first to process and view many of the photographs in this exhibition and the Jeffrey Goldstein collection, Vivian Maier Prints Inc.
