Artist Statement

As our nation fights against systemic racism to finally achieve equality for all, I was inspired to create this piece to support the Black Lives Matter movement. For far too long in America, black people have had to endure racism, police brutality, and a system set up for them to fail. It is sad that it took the killing of George Floyd for nationwide backlash to occur in America, however I think it is great to see many people of my generation taking a stand for justice and equality. As a nation, we must continue to educate ourselves and fight for what is right.
