A couple of notes about the design:

  • The images of people you see here are placeholders—the actual portraits will be painted with photo references taken by us of actual DuPage residents. We will gather (and hire) a diverse group of people, paint their faces a bit, and take dynamic portraits. The purpose is to be able to see who they are, but not exactly. We want to convey some ambiguity and unifying all of them through the symbol of the paint in their faces.

  • Following the theme of our Be Bold mural, we wanted to include some paint on their faces (however, not all the face like in the Be Bold Mural) to signify diversity and part of their bodies will be 'blending' with the background through more expressive brushstrokes.

  • The ground design refers to the ground of the tunnel. If possible, we’d extend the design beyond the curved walls of the tunnel and paint the ground in order to activate the entire space. If this is not possible, the tunnel design would not be affected.
