I was born in Mexico City, Mexico. I came to Atlanta, GA as a young adult and have been here ever since. Atlanta is the birthplace of one of the most important people in history, Dr. Martin Luther King. The importance of his legacy resonates to this day in modern society. The MLK Center is one of the biggest attractions in Atlanta. Visiting the MLK center, seeing Dr. King's home, and learning about his quest for civil rights will always be an inspiration for me. Although I have focused on abstract art for more than 25 years, I expanded my creativity to pop art portraits a few years ago using geometric shapes which I normally use in my abstract series.

Description of work: Living in Atlanta, MLK was the voice of the civil rights movement, and his message resonated around the world. His dream was quality for all. His bravery and his compassion are an inspiration to me and so many who have heard his message.

Timeline of Events
Artists in Mexico have begun painting and 15 national artists will arrive in May of 2024 to paint 15 heads here in DuPage County on-site at the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage. This exciting international exhibition has already begun and will be completed in June of 2024.
